45. I met you pt. 1

For the lecture on the competition that week, under Xia Junhua’s earnest thanks, more than half of Group 7 helped to sit in the auditorium.

Lao Wan also put on a square capped hat* and the most crisp shirt, and sat among a group of students.

*(graduation hat)

“Extremely handsome.”

Cen Rui’s head teacher didn’t even let him bring his mobile phone. He really liked Lao Wan and praised him earnestly: “Teacher Wan, it doesn’t matter how long you sit here for, they won’t be able to find out that there is a traitor among the students.”

Lao Wan was a little embarrassed by the praise, smiled and waved his hands, then leaned over a little, and asked a few contestants about the situation of the competition.

The person who came to give the lecture was Zhang Shenghang, a well-known competition training teacher in the province. He has thinner hair than Lao Wan. He is in his forties, and he looks like he can talk about everything for a day.

This lecture is mainly for prospective high school seniors who are willing to pass the competition. In addition to teachers, there are also a few senior high school graduates who are looking to gain more experience.

“Hangyu is very famous. A lot of people who engage in competitions have followed them for training. They have even held summer camps and won a lot of national awards.”

Xia Junhua’s eyes shined brightly: “I heard that they are very accurate in spotting the questions, practise a few more sets of questions. Let’s give our all for the preliminary round in August, this can be regarded as an account for the past two years.”

For the contestants, the third year of high school is the last fight. If you still can’t get the recommended contract, you will immediately turn your focus back to the college entrance examination, which is even more stressful than ordinary students.

As usual, Yu Sheng sat near the door, flipped through two pages of the book, and just touched the phone when the light was slightly blocked by a figure.

Looking up, Jin Linkun picked up his things in his pocket, and his body was still covered with the scent of the bright summer heat outside. His eyes behind the glasses were bent towards him: “Couldn’t wait?”

Yu Sheng glanced at him and looked down at the book: “I thought you got lost in a certain corner of the campus and couldn’t get back.”

Today, he was here to make up the numbers, so Yu Sheng got up early to practise the piano, came out of the piano room, received a text message from him and didn’t see anyone again.

He felt that the tone of the news was not right, and he was inexplicably worried. He sent several messages in the past, but the other side just told him not to worry, and made an appointment to meet in the auditorium.

As a result, he hasn’t seen Jin Linkun until now.

Yu Sheng flipped through two pages of the book, moved to the side to let him sit, and watched him take out snacks one by one from the bag: “Are you here to watch a movie?”

“This kind of lecture can’t be finished in three hours, and it will surely be delayed until noon.”

Jin Linkun was very experienced. He unbuttoned his neckline with one hand, and put the last box of yoghurt in his arms: “This is something for you to eat, let’s go out to eat when it’s over.”

The lecture time is at ten o’clock in the morning, and you have to stay until the end to get the simulation paper. Yu Sheng got up early in the morning to practise the piano, and had already had breakfast for four or five hours. If he sat like this until noon, he would inevitably feel hungry again and have a stomachache.

Yu Sheng looked at the bag of cartoon finger biscuits handed over: “… When did you become an adult?”

“Six months ago, on December 7th.” Jin Linkun skillfully tore open the package and answered very accurately, “Ten months older than you.”

“…” Yu Sheng looked at the biscuit he handed over, and was silent for a while, then took it and folded it into several pieces, and stuffed it into his mouth neatly while no one was watching.

After this man repaired the stool, he put Wangzai milk and bear biscuits in his dormitory. It might be true because he really likes Wangzai milk and bear biscuits.

Like hell was he an adult.

Yu Sheng was forced to take the yoghurt that was handed over with the straw inserted, took two sips, and resolutely pushed back Jin Linkun’s birth date by ten years, and recorded it on his phone.

After sitting for a while, the lecture started as scheduled.

The five major subject competitions are almost all about science, and the directions of mathematics, information, information and chemical engineering are different, so it is impossible to generalise. This lecture was mainly aimed at the contestants who were applying for the exam for the first time. The content of the lecture was too shallow, and the audience couldn’t help but bow their heads and chat together after a while.

[Marachui loves me, I love Marachui: Lao Xia, are you still listening?]

[Practice paper Chong Chong Chong: Listen, I have been taking the exam for two years. If it weren’t for the practice papers, I wouldn’t be here to listen. Don’t forget to set a password when you sign up.]

[Simulation volume Chong Chong Chong: I feel like I wasted a precious hour of Group 7, and I will continue to waste it.]

[No.1 of Group 7: Not wasteful, just learn extracurricular knowledge, you really worked hard.]

[N University at four o’clock in the morning: It’s okay, student Xia, I brought the exercise book, do you need light?]

Xia Junhua put down his phone, looked up at Kong Jiahe who had a miniature miner’s lamp on his head: “Why does the deputy team leader have a light…”

“It’s probably the after effect of the stage lights.” Cen Rui followed and looked over there, “I’m actually a little bit tempted, ask the deputy team leader, is there a bluetooth connection link?”

___

The news in the WeChat group jumped to 99+ in a short while, the lecturer on the stage was still talking, occasionally making a joke or two wittily, and the audience reluctantly responded with a burst of applause.

The link of Kong Jiahe’s headlight of the same model was quickly posted to the group. Cen Rui was excitedly copying the search link, when he heard a burst of applause and quickly raised his head: “What’s wrong? He made a big move?”

“No, he just started talking about examples from previous years. Everyone loves to listen to gossip.”

Xia Junhua has listened to many competition lectures, and has long since lost interest in such stories: “It’s nothing more than someone who was defeated by one point, or someone who was lucky enough to sign a contract, or it’s a lesson learned from the past. It’s useless…”

His experience is obviously very reliable, and as soon as he finished speaking, the voice of the lecturer on the stage rang out: “The mistakes of the past are the lessons of the past, and the following example should be paid special attention to, and you must not make similar mistakes. “

This kind of opening is always attractive, and the students in the audience who were already a little distracted also sat up straight and raised their heads.

The lecturer was very satisfied, knocked on the microphone, and walked up and down a few steps vigorously: “Actually, it was a year ago, the final of the mathematics competition, the winter camp in December-early. Some mathematics students may know about the strict checks that were imposed after an exam paper was found leaked with answers on the server. We actually caught a fish that slipped through the net.”

Yu Sheng was looking down at the book when he vaguely heard this sentence, subconsciously frowned, and looked up at the stage.

“The original paper, an entire script, is filled with answers before the exam started.”

The lecturer’s tone became serious: “In the provincial finals, everyone can think about how serious cheating this is – fortunately, the student who caused the accident finally confessed voluntarily, otherwise the other students in his group will face being disqualified from the winter camp punishment.”

The lecturer looked to the side of the stage and motioned to a boy who was brought over to introduce his experience: “Yan Zhi, do you still remember this?”

The boy whose name was called by him looked very nervous, and he shook his head before looking up, stuttering: “Remember, remember.”

The lecturer nodded in satisfaction: “So, students must pay attention to precautions! The pressure of the competition is no less than that of the college entrance examination. Even the one who studies the best and the most relaxed in your heart may do something shameful in private.”

“Student Yan Zhi was almost implicated back then—it was because he didn’t see the paper, what if he did? What if the cheater was beaten to death and refused to admit it? All of them will be disqualified and punished.”

The lecturer’s voice was very loud, and the horns were buzzing: “Before the competition, you must protect yourself. If you find people cheating around you, you should report it immediately. Only in this way can you avoid being implicated innocently. … Yan Zhi, tell me about the situation at that time in detail.”

The boy named Yan Zhi turned pale again, instinctively glanced down the stage, and then quickly looked away.

His legs were trembling a little, he took the microphone and walked to the centre of the stage, swallowed his saliva, lowered his head: “Yes, it was December last year…”

The more Xia Junhua listened, the more he felt something was wrong, so he frowned. The WeChat on his phone suddenly vibrated twice, and a new message popped up in Group 7’s chat group.

[Jin Linkun: Xia Junhua. I have something to do. I’ll make up for you if you need mock questions.]

[Practice paper Chong Chong Chong: No need, Kunshen! What is said here is nonsense, all dried goods, no value at all!]

[Practice paper Chong Chong Chong: You can leave as you want, really! I fucking want to leave…]

Xia Junhua quickly tapped on the keyboard of his mobile phone, and before he finished sending the message, Jin Linkun had already stood up.

Yu Sheng frowned and looked up at him.

“It’s okay.” Jin Linkun lowered his head and smiled at him, “I’ll go out and wait for you, tell me what you want for lunch.”

His expression was very calm, but the depths of his eyes behind the glasses were so deep that he couldn’t see to the bottom. He got out of the seat beside Yu Sheng and walked straight to the back door.

On the stage, the microphone in Yan Zhi’s hand shook, and he blurted out: “Kun-ge—”

Jin Linkun didn’t seem to hear, he opened the door and left the auditorium.

The lecturer was a little dazed at first, but when he heard Yan Zhi call out, he suddenly got on the number and lowered his voice: “That’s him? Why is he here too…”
