52. Can you and your roommate develop this kind of relationship?

Jin Linkun was silent for a while, but didn’t move immediately.

Yu Sheng waited for a while, pursed the corner of his lower lip, and was about to open his eyes, but was hastily covered by a hand.

“No, I won’t go.”

Jin Linkun covered his eyes and said hastily, with a somewhat urgent tone: “Don’t move.”

Yu Sheng didn’t move anymore, the already familiar breath froze for a while, but still leaned down and touched his shoulder.

The strength of the hand that was covering his eyes was inexplicably different from the past. Yu Sheng was covered by him, and couldn’t see anything, so he frowned: “What’s wrong?”

“It’s okay.” Jin Linkun took a deep breath, and his throat rolled down silently, “I…need to take it easy for a while.”

Before his roommate figured out what “take it easy” meant, he quickly adjusted his state, took a book randomly, and sat on the bedside.

Outside the window, the morning light entered the room little by little, and fell on the edge of the wall through the curtains.

No one spoke in the dormitory, it was so quiet that one could hear the sun embracing the wind as it blew past.

Jin Linkun sat clutching the book for a long time before realising that he might have turned the book upside down.

The fingers are inexplicably stiff, and it takes a few tries to get the hang of it. He stared at the book for a while, then glanced at Yu Sheng quietly, and dropped the book calmly.

Yu Sheng closed his eyes, lay down for a while, pulled out an arm, grabbed his arm and tugged.

After counting all the strokes and number of the characters in the book, Jin Linkun only counted to the fourth character, when he felt the strength on his arm, he subconsciously raised his head.

Yu Sheng didn’t speak, and moved sideways into the bed.

The beds in the dormitory are more spacious than the bunk beds, but they are single beds after all. Jin Linkun was startled, looked down at the half space left, and subconsciously called him: “Yu Sheng…”

“Lie down for a while.” Yu Sheng leaned against the wall again, “You can’t sleep anymore?”

Jin Linkun raised his head and glanced at his bed.

In order to be able to climb on Yu Sheng’s bed, he purposely piled up his bed and desk with books, and it seemed that there was absolutely no way to put another person there. But in fact, as long as you use the sheets to carry it all down, you can still quickly clear out a place to sleep.

___

With his head down, Jin Linkun struggled with his thoughts, which were already stuck, and still felt that he should not take the initiative to admit this matter.

He sat still, and Yu Sheng lost his patience after waiting for a long time. He leaned back against the wall, pulled him to lie down, rolled up the quilt, and pushed it all over him.

Jin Linkun lay on the bed, his heart beating for a while, and finally regained his senses.

Obviously this is not the first time they have slept together, and he don’t know if it’s because of the more cramped space this time or because of Yu Sheng’s “Ge”, it seems that even the air is so thick that it can no longer flow, making people feel a little breathless for no reason.

It was not a spacious single bed, and there were two boys with long hands and long legs lying on it, but they didn’t touch at all.

Jin Linkun looked up at Yu Sheng who was about to lie down on the wall, the corners of his mouth came up. He raised his hand to tell him: “No, I’ll go this way…”

There was still some distance behind him, and he was trying to keep from falling, moving back a little bit, and suddenly felt a very slight resistance.

Jin Linkun lowered his head and saw Yu Sheng clutching his sleeve.

The boy’s fingers were slender and clean, twisting the piece of fabric, his knuckles were faintly white.

Yu Sheng lay quietly, did not open his eyes, did not speak, curled up slightly, with his forehead pressed against his shoulder.

Jin Linkun suddenly felt a slight pain in his chest.

He stopped, stretched out his arms again, hugged the person into his arms, and patted his back lightly.

Yu Sheng didn’t seem to like his way of coaxing the child very much, he moved uncomfortably, trying to break away, but Jin Linkun hugged him even tighter, and whispered a hush from his shoulders, tickling his hair.

___

Even if he was really kicked down, he doesn’t mind.

Jin Linkun didn’t intend to let go, and his hand slipped down Yu Sheng’s back, and was a little surprised to find that the person in his arms seemed to relax vaguely following his movements.

When he stopped for a while and was about to cover Yu Sheng with the quilt, Yu Sheng suddenly leaned towards him gently.

The young man’s shoulders relaxed. He was so obedient like he could just bury him into his chest. He rubbed Yu Sheng’s neck twice silently and inconspicuously.

___

Jin Linkun felt that he had to wait a little longer.

This time it took longer than last time. After sitting for a while, Jin Linkun finally breathed a sigh of relief and retracted his arms: “Yu Sheng—have you thought about it, find someone in the third year of high school—”

The thought floated up in his mind, but he pushed it back again.

He vaguely knew why Yu Sheng couldn’t sleep well, and he could guess what happened to him.

But the more he could guess, the less he dared to speak rashly.

…What if Yu Sheng just treats him as a brother?

What if Yu Sheng just got used to him and didn’t think about anything at all?

The more vaguely he can guess and understand Yu Sheng’s experience, the less he feels that he should, and he doesn’t want to urge Yu Sheng to make hasty preparations to open his heart so soon.

He doesn’t want to take the risk of betting everything he has right now for a possibility.

Jin Linkun’s throat twitched, and he tentatively said softly, “Have you thought about finding… a tutor, the kind who comes to your door?”

The voice faded for a while, but there was no response.

From the sound of his own intense heartbeat, Jin Linkun realised that the person leaning on his shoulders was breathing smoothly and evenly, and had fallen asleep soundly.

Jin Linkun twitched the corners of his mouth helplessly, stroked his hair, and pulled the quilt up again to cover it up.

The good news is that his roommate is getting used to him more and more, and even used to pulling him to sleep together, and he can be hugged for a while when he falls asleep.

The bad news is his roommate can almost fall asleep as soon as he touches him.

___

Not such a bad news.

The two are roommates, and Jin Linkun knows better than anyone how hard it is for Yu Sheng to sleep.

When he was just assigned to a room, Jin Linkun was embarrassed to go to the bathroom in the dormitory when Yu Sheng had just fallen asleep, for fear of waking up the person who fell asleep after a hard time.

It wasn’t until after that game that every time he went to the bathroom in the corridor, he had to receive the admiration of Group 7, which was as sacred as worshipping a deity, forcing him to change this habit.

Although it might be a bit early to start worrying now, Jin Linkun was indeed very worried about what to do if Yu Sheng does not sleep well in the two days before the college entrance examination.

…In any case, this problem can be solved now.

He lay on the bed with someone in his arms, thinking wildly that he couldn’t close his eyes, and endured it for a while, until Yu Sheng’s alarm clock rang.

With sharp eyes and quick hands, Jin Linkun skillfully turned off the alarm clock for him, embraced the man in his arms, and closed his eyes.

It’s strange to say that the countless thoughts circling in his mind when he opened his eyes quietly disappeared without a trace when he hugged Yu Sheng into his arms.

Jin Linkun lay down for a while, let his tiredness surge, and fell into a peaceful dream.

There was less than a week before the end of the summer camp. When filling out the basic information form, Yu Sheng’s casual sentence of poisonous milk finally found a chance to show itself.

The two of them overslept together in the dormitory, and neither of them could get up.

Even after that lecture, Yu Sheng and Jin Linkun just went out for a break for a long time, but they still arrived at the rehearsal room on time the next day. They never missed a single meeting.

This time, the two suddenly disappeared together without even saying bye, which made the Group 7 who were about to start rehearsals on time unanimously aroused strong worries.

“Have you found all the emergency contacts? Can you get in touch?”

Ding Zhengjiao organised the students to search for a long time, and the more he thought about it, the more worried he became: “Where are the places they often go to? Internet cafes? Dorms? The small forest behind the school?”

“Don’t think about it, I can’t get in touch.”

It was the first time Xia Junhua saw the basic information form that was filled out and then thrown away, and he was quite affected by the emergency contact of the two: “When I go back to school, can I also fill it out like this?”

He already had a plan, and flipped through his phone: “I will fill in the contact as my roommate, and my roommate will fill it in as me, so that when our grades fluctuate, the teacher can stop calling our parents…”

“I searched for them in the small forest, in the Internet cafe, and I knocked on the doors of their dormitory. No one opened, there should be no one inside.”

Cen Rui reported to Ding Zhengjiao, and patted Xia Junhua on the shoulder: “Don’t think about it, if you really dare to fill it in, the teacher will probably call your parents not because of your grades but because you filled up the contact information as your roommate.”

“Or ask you to see a doctor.” Liang Yifan added, “See if you are in the third year of high school. The pressure is too great and it has affected your brain…”

“So realistic?” Xia Junhua was a little disappointed, “Is it possible that it won’t come true at all?”

Liang Yifan: “It’s not reality, it’s that you and your roommate can’t have the kind of relationship between Kunshen and Sheng-ge.”

Xia Junhua was not convinced: “Why not, aren’t we all roommates? Let’s work hard—maybe we will succeed!”

Liang Yifan opened his mouth, and before he had time to enlighten him, Ding Zhengjiao, who had searched around but found no one, came over with smoke coming from his head: “Hurry up, stop chatting, and think of a way first…”

Yu Sheng couldn’t stand the little red dot that reminded him of unread messages, and usually saw click into it fast. Jin Linkun occasionally doesn’t look at his phone, and whenever he sees it, he will take the initiative to say that he has received the message.

Neither of them is a person who often disappears for no reason. At first, they can’t find them, and they don’t know where to look for them.

Group 7 brainstormed for a while, and decided to go to the dormitory again to try their luck.

Because Jin Linkun didn’t remember to bring the key with him nine times out of ten, Yu Sheng was really worried, so he put a spare one in Liang Yifan’s dormitory for emergencies, and it just came in handy now.

“I still don’t think it’s appropriate – is this really okay?”

Unexpectedly, this spare key would be so exciting to use for the first time. Liang Yifan held the key chain in the shape of a cartoon organ, a little nervous: “Are you sure it’s an ’emergency’ situation? If Sheng-ge finds out, I’ll immediately ask, “Is it too late to kneel down?””

These two people can’t be found anywhere, and Ding Zhengjiao really has no other way, he insisted: “It’s too late. This matter is urgent, at least see where they are first, so as not to cause any accidents.”

He specially invited a few more people, and repeatedly emphasised: “The dormitory is also a private room, just to see if people are there. If you are not there, leave. Don’t look at things you shouldn’t be…”

Everyone encouraged each other, watched Liang Yifan put the key into the lock, tried it a few times, and unlocked the door with a click.

“I’ve knocked on the door several times, but I don’t think there’s anyone there, maybe they’ve gone out.”

Cen Rui was in charge of searching the area around the dormitory. He came here several times and felt that there should be no problem, so he entered the door first: “Look, there is no one in front of Kunshen’s desk, there is no one on Kunshen’s bed, there is no one in front of Sheng-ge’s desk, and there is no one on Sheng-ge’s bed –.”

Cen Rui: “…”

“What’s the matter?” Hearing that he suddenly stopped talking, Ding Zhengjiao was also worried, and hurried over, “Sheng-ge, what’s on the bed?”

Cen Rui stood beside the bed in thought, stepped back half a step after hearing the sound, and gave him a look.

“…” Ding Zhengjiao: “Kun, Kunshen?”

Cen Rui stepped back cautiously, and consulted Liang Yifan, who was relatively experienced: “Should I kneel now?”

“It shouldn’t be.” Liang Yifan shook his head, “My naive and stupid friend, you have misremembered again, it is useless to kneel down to Kunshen.”

Jin Linkun also stayed up all night, and fell asleep as soon as he closed his eyes, and he was still very sleepy at the moment. Hearing the chaotic voices beside the bed, he managed to open his eyes.

He sat up with his arms propped up, took a while, and glanced at the side of the bed.

“It’s over, I feel the call of my destiny to wander the world.”

Cen Rui was glanced at by him, his heartbeat seemed to have stopped, and he lowered his voice: “Lao Liang, let me ask one last question, is Kunshen awake or angry?”

Liang Yifan answered him pragmatically: “According to Sheng-ge, Kunshen can’t see clearly without glasses. But to be honest, I still think he is very angry this time.”

“…”

Cen Rui swallowed, and cautiously moved back a few steps.

Only then did he realise who the person was standing by the bed, Jin Linkun rubbed his forehead, and frowned again because of the headache he had suffered all night.

“Kunshen, I’m sorry—” Ding Zhengjiao didn’t know how to explain, bit his head, “We, we couldn’t find you…”

“It’s okay, I just have something with you guys.”

Jin Linkun rubbed his eyes and fumbled to put on his glasses: “There is a document on the computer on the window sill that has some science practice questions. You copy it back and read it first. We will get the liberal arts later.”

Ding Zhengjiao was stunned for a moment, then subconsciously agreed, hugged the computer and turned it on.

“Wow—”

In a blink of an eye, the desire to escape was suppressed by the precious knowledge, Cen Rui went around the person in front of him, and looked at the computer: “Kunshen, did you type this overnight?!”

“There are screenshots, and chemical equations which take up space.” Jin Linkun simply explained, “Is there anything else?”

“Nothing else, nothing else. Kunshen, you have a good rest, we’re leaving now.”

Cen Rui stared at the document, touched the mouse, sent a copy to his phone, and to the entire Group 7.

Ding Zhengjiao was robbed of the mouse by him, and his mind paused on the “my roommate” that just turned on the computer, followed by a whole screen of garbled documents, and couldn’t help but tentatively say: “One more thing…”

Jin Linkun looked up, waiting for him to speak.

“Kunshen.” Ding Zhengjiao swallowed cautiously, “Where’s Sheng-ge?”

“…”

A group of people who were dazzled by the joy of knowledge realised something was wrong, looked at each other in blank dismay, and looked over hesitantly.

Jin Linkun: “…ah.”

He lowered his head, moved his arm still buried in the quilt, and patted it lightly twice.

A head popped out of the bed again.

Yu Sheng obviously hasn’t woken up yet, his hair is a little messy, his eyebrows are furrowed uncomfortably, and his eyes are still open: “What are you doing?”

His usual voice was clear and clean, but this time it was mixed with a nasal voice that stayed up all night, and the volume was not high, and it seemed that the whole sentence did not have the slightest edge.

Too soft.

“……Nothing.”

Jin Linkun just woke up, and his brain was turning slowly. It took a while to react, and he hid him back: “Go to sleep, I’m here.”

As if he was proficient in his technique, he wrapped one hand around Yu Sheng’s shoulder, and then circled him back to lie down, tucking in the quilt.

Yu Sheng was so sleepy that he had a headache, half of his face was buried in the quilt, and he frowned impatiently after being tossed and turned back and forth endlessly.

Before he could speak, Jin Linkun had covered the top of his head very skillfully, and rubbed him twice comfortingly.

Ding Zhengjiao: “…”

Cen Rui: “…”

Other Group 7 members who were courageous enough to join them: “…”

“Student Xia Junhua.”

Liang Yifan was more familiar with this scene, but he was much calmer than the others. He patted Xia Junhua on the shoulder, and gave him the reference from reality: “For reference, can you and your roommate have this kind of relationship?”
